Programme website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04j2kt9 Presenters Kieran Long & Piers Taylor revisit Abigail and Christian’s house to see whether the low cost extension fulfils the needs of the family.
The TimberCab 550 is one of the most versatile tiny house home designs around! It meets the backyard cottage/accessory dwelling unit (ADU) size requirements in most jurisdictions while it is also ideal as a compact getaway cabin.
You will be surprised at how large the space feels partially due to the open floor plan, high ceilings and flexible space. The small home design ideas incorporate a full-kitchen and bathroom with a walk-in, curbless shower. Loft space above the bathroom can be utilized as storage.
This fully functioning, fully contained cabin just goes to show how to live in a tiny house needn’t be one of ‘going without’ and can in fact be a very enriching experience.

Figuring out the floorplan and layout of your tiny house is one of the most difficult aspects of the design process. This video uses Google SketchUp to show some of the architectural ideas behind what I have commissioned Tennessee Tiny Homes to build for me.

It’s possible that this is one of the smallest homes that we have visited on the show so far and yet without doubt it is one of the most spectacular in it’s design. Japan is a country already world-famous for it’s small space designs, and so it should come as no surprise that when Japanese master-craftsman Tagami Haruhiko turned his attention towards the tiny house movement, amazing things would happen.

Four Ryerson University architecture students, recently decided to put their education to work and are currently building a 22′ long Tiny House in Saanich, BC.
Since May 2016, Dan Sobieraj, Gregorio Jimenez, Douglas Peterson-Hui, and Michael Hankus have been working on “Mount Tolmie Tiny House Project” and hope to have it done early next year. They chose to source materials locally including the trailer and milled lumber.
In regards to the interior, they are just adding the last bit of love to the 3D tour and are excited to announce its release very soon!
This tour will allow the public to sense and feel the interior in the comfort of their homes (with the help of google carboard goggles or compatible technology). Stay tuned as we keep you updated on this cool project!
