Over the past few months we have been planning our soon to be little cabin. We have been trying to come up with ideas that would work for our family of five. Squeezing two adults and three teenagers into a little home that is less than 300 ft plus running our soap business is going to be a serious challenge! We have looked at what seems like a gazillion different prebuilt sheds, tiny homes online and on one of my favorite sites ever.. Pinterest! We finally narrowed the size down to a 12 x 24 shed that will will convert into a tiny home. We wanted something that was small enough to not cost us a ton of money, yet something large enough that we all wont kill each other come winter.

In this video, we meet Natalie, a woman in her mid-thirties who has been living in her tiny house for a year and a half. She built her tiny house on wheels with the help of a contractor and the whole project, including labor, cost approximately $36,000 CAD (although the roof still needs to be shingled). The tiny house is currently parked in a suburb of Montreal, Canada but with a little bit of work (i.e. taking down a portion of the backyard fencing), the house could be moved almost anywhere.
Watch our interview and tiny house tour with Natalie to find out how she adapted a Tumbleweed Tiny House plan to withstand extreme winter weather, how living in a tiny house has given her more financial security, and why this is the house she wants to live in for the rest of her life.
Natalie blogged about her tiny house building process here:
A tour of our tiny house . Built on Tumbleweed principles, we bought this 272sq ft house already built, then hauled it across the state and parked it in a garden. We bought it fully functional but very bare bones. We did major remodels to suit our personalities and needs. We have enjoyed living in our home for the last year and a half but the recent fourth edition to our family is making it feel more cramped. We will be moving soon. Hope you enjoy!

Tiny House Floor Plans: 32′ Long Tiny Home on Wheels Design
I love tinkering around designing/building tiny house s especially as small as a house as possible but still have all the conveniences that you find in a ‘McMansion’.
I know the idea about tiny living is supposed to be living with less but if you can cram everything into a small- less than 300 sq. ft.- moveable home without making it claustrophobic…
Why not, right?
So here I’m showing you a 32′ long tiny house design I’ve recently finished working on. Let me know what ya think in the comments down below!
I’d also like to show you a 28′ design that’s obviously a bit shorter. It has less square footage but it could be used as a 3 bedroom young family tiny home or just a backyard guest building by utilizing two sleeping lofts. Check it out and let me know what you think below:

Building a Tiny House #1 – Salvaging a Trailer – http://youtu.be/tWWt8jT8WuA
In this episode, I continue work on the tiny house after getting the salvaged trailer ready to build on. Using traditional construction materials I frame up the tiny house into my design. Building a tiny house is not much different than a not so tiny house, same wood, same tools and similar techniques. Join me in this step towards a simpiliar debt free life. Thank you for watching and I look forward to your comments.
